
Fenech & Fenech Advocates recently visited Malta Freeport Terminals facilities. This visit was part of the company’s ongoing program to engage with clients on-site, ensuring that their legal expertise works hand in glove with the practical realities of the clients’ daily operations. Members of the firm’s Marine and Local Litigation, Ship Registration and Ship Finance Teams were welcomed by Malta Freeport Terminals CEO Alex Montebello, CFO Jason Montebello, COO Fernando Querol, Finance Manager Adrian Cachia and Manager CEO’s Office Svetlana Gauci.
Mr Montebello provided a detailed presentation covering the impressive history and development of Malta Freeport Terminals including the company’s continuous efforts to invest in a greener future through various initiatives being taken. The visit continued with a tour of the Operations Control Centre, which was provided by Adrian Mallia, Planning Manager. The delegates then proceeded to Terminal Two North Quay to observe the ongoing works related to the Squaring Off project. Once completed, this project will enable the terminal to continue to provide better for the latest class of 24,000 TEU vessels with a length of over 400 meters. The terminal’s capacity is expected to increase from 3.6 million TEUs to 4 million container movements per year, reinforcing Malta’s position as a major hub for global shipping activities.
