The Terminal 2 project, which includes a major land reclamation component, will create approximately 30,000 square metres of additional operational space. This expansion will support higher volumes, enable the handling of larger vessels, and enhance overall terminal efficiency.
Beyond capacity, the development reflects a broader objective: reinforcing Malta’s position as a leading Mediterranean transhipment hub while aligning with the ambitions of Malta Vision 2050, especially in the smart and sustainable use of land and sea resources.
The Terminal 2 Development Project forms part of a continued programme of investment in infrastructure and operational capability, ensuring #MaltaFreeportTerminals remains competitive and resilient in a rapidly evolving global maritime and logistics landscape.
