The event comes at a critical time for the rapidly evolving maritime industry due to environmental and geopolitical challenges. During his welcome speech, MFT CEO Alex Montebello said bringing together leaders, innovators, and stakeholders in a forum of this nature is a golden opportunity for the maritime and related sectors to address the key strategies, technologies, and solutions required to transform ‘decarbonisation’ into a tangible reality that will benefit the industry and community as a whole. He said: “At Malta Freeport, we have been doing that too, across all our operations, as part of our vision to create and operate a state-of-the-art transhipment hub in the heart of the Mediterranean.
