One man’s pallet is another man’s treasured bench… As part of its comprehensive World Environment Day initiatives, Malta Freeport Terminals employees skilfully transformed reclaimed pallets into benches for the Birzebbuga community.
Moreover, in line with this year’s theme of World Environment Day — #BeatPlasticPollution — the Freeport’s proactive employees collected plastic bottles and with the deposit collected going towards their in-house cooking activities. This serves the dual purpose of fundraising for Puttinu Cares while raising awareness on the importance of tackling plastic pollution.
The Freeport, which is committed to environmental management and active community engagement, is planning various other environmental initiatives for the benefit of Birzebbuga.
These initiatives were supported by: Birzebbuga Local Council, Malta Freeport Corporation, Project Green, Lubricom, MEP Mediterranean Engines Power, PAL Malta Communications & Security, RCV Handling Machinery, M Company Limited Shanelty, Domeman Glove Co. Ltd, Carmelo Caruana Company Limited, and Birzebbuga Sailing Club.
