Malta Freeport Terminals was delighted to host, in collaboration with the Malta Maritime Forum, a high-level South African delegation for discussions on maritime trade, connectivity and opportunities for future cooperation between the two countries.
The delegation was led by the Premier of the Eastern Cape, Lubalalo Oscar Mabuyane, and the High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa to Malta H.E. Nosipho Nausca-Jean Jezile, and included senior representatives from various governmental entities, agencies, and institutes.
Malta Maritime Forum Chairman GODWIN XERRI and CEO Kevin J. Borg outlined the Forum’s role in supporting and promoting Malta’s maritime sector, while highlighting opportunities arising from the complementary strengths and geographical positions of Malta and South Africa.
During the visit, Svetlana Gauci, Manager within the CEO’s Office at Malta Freeport Terminals, delivered an overview of the terminal’s operations, connectivity, capacity, and ongoing expansion programme. Our CEO Alex Montebello, who is also Vice Chairman of the MMF, unfortunately could not attend due to other engagements.
The event was coordinated by Ivan Mifsud, Honorary Consul of South Africa to Malta.
