The impressive 72 metre boom of one of malta Freeport Terminals’ two new Liebherr megamax quayside cranes has been lifted into place as the latest investment takes shape at our Terminals in the centre of the Mediterranean. Assembly is proceeding on schedule – the boom of the second crane expected to be lifted in a fortnight – and both cranes are expected to be fully operation by July. The cranes form part of a multimillion euro investment programme by the Freeport which already welcomes the world’s largest super container ships on a regular basis.
